Seen better than that:
I have smoked since 14, and for some reason the majority of my crowd do as well. I've always owned a Zippo and so have a lot of my friends and we found that they work with pretty much any flammable liquid so after filling up the motors we would shake the last few drops from the pump into the lighters (this doesn't work with diesel) and run the lighters off that.
This worked fine until one of the crew had a momentary lapse of reason and decided to trigger the pump to fill his lighter. He covered the lighter, his arm, the back wing of the car and a large area of the floor with premium unleaded. He then decided to (as you should) burn off the excess liquid on the outside of the lighter.
Cue one large fireball, which he then threw across the petrol station as the bloke minding it came running out with an extinguisher to put it out.
At this point the rest of us had left his motor at speed and where watching for the predicted fireworks from the other side of the car park!
He then had the gall to send the burnt remains of the lighter back to Zippo for a replacement; he only got one!
Since then I've always been a bit more careful around flammable liquids!
